7 Things You Need to Know About Writer Seven (September)

Okay, so, to be totally honest I do not feel good this morning, it’s like 5am, and I am graciously debating staying home to calm down and sleep. However, I wanted to update you guys on some things that are going to happen/are happening on Writer Seven. Bear with me.

7 Changes Coming to Writer Seven

Writer Seven is changing. Not dramatically, but in a more efficient and interesting way. I’ll soon begin writing more about education and business writing (as opposed to freelance writing) and I’m also going to be writing some in-depth guides for certain types of  articles and written works. I’m hoping to go through and improve the overall quality of the archives and add more value and information to new posts. That being said, let’s talk specifics:

New Design

Don’t get me wrong, I loved the old design. However, because this blog serves another purpose (to draw in clients), I wanted to make sure I was targeting the right people. As you can see, the site is still under construction. I’m doing my best to get things wrapped up, but time is taking away from that. I’m hoping to have the new design completed sometime over next weekend.

Advertising

I’ve had advertisements up for a while now, but now ad spots will be available for purchase by those wishing to reach a large community of writers, readers, and interested freelance writers. This blog gets about 900 unique hits per month, and that number is steadily rising. The pricing will start ridiculously low, so be ready in October for some great deals!

Guides to Writing

Some of you have never heard of a press release, but after checking out the How to Write a Press Release article, you can probably write a darn good one now. I plan on creating guides just like this one with examples and resources that will allow you to expand your writing capabilities. I’ll most likely throw in some shameless self promotion (hey, this is my portfolio) but I promise you can learn everything you’ll need to learn from these posts. ;)

Steady Posting Schedule

For those of you who have been loyally reading, you know I try to update Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. School, college applications, sickness, and work are all clashing and clanging down around me, but after a month I think I’ve worked out the logistics to create a better posting schedule. The update days will now come  Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, respectively. I’ll also be trying to roll these out at more consistent times.

New “7 Words to Know Wednesday” Series

To help me adhere to my posting schedule, I’ll be creating a “7 Words to Know” series that will roll out on Wednesdays. My goal on this blog is to lead by example and improve your content quality, so let’s start learning some vocabulary. Remember to study for your tests! (Totally kidding)

Interviews

As much as I like to pretend that I do, I don’t know everything. Luckily, there are older (and way older) and more experienced writers out there than myself, and they’re willing to reveal their secrets and let us know about their world. I’ve got a long list of people to ask about writing, freelance writing, how writing affects the online community, etc.

Compensation Program Reviews

In addition to reviewing products, I now want to start reviewing places like Ehow and Triond, which pay writers to add to the website. I’ll be showing you how to make the most money from these websites, the pros and cons, and whether or not your time is even worth the writing. I’m already working on researching two of these reviews, so stay tuned.

What Do You Think?

Sorry this wasn’t the most stylistic article (it sounds more like something I’d put on my personal blog). I want to know what you think about these ideas, what ideas you have about Writer Seven, whatever. Share your thoughts and opinions below!

I’m sorry you didn’t feel well this morning. Hopefully you feel much better now. Well I’m excited to see the changes.

You definitely want to create content that draws in your target market. That’s why I adjusted my content to appeal to internet business owners because that’s who I’m targeting.

You are doing very well with your blog, Corey. I learn something each time I stop by :)
